Practice Makes Better Response

The National Preparedness Goal

" A secure and resilient nation with the capabilities required across the whole community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk."

San Juan County Exercise Program

Preparedness is the shared responsibility of our entire community; from the individual to local government and all the agencies and organizations in between.

San Juan County Office of Emergency Management (SJCOEM) strives to increase the capability of our community to respond to and recover from those hazards that pose the most risk locally.

SJCOEM facilitates training and exercises that bring together local industry, emergency responders, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions and private response groups.

These partnerships are maintained by everyday events and continued training so that when a large scale event occures, all partners have worked together and are on the same response page.
